How To Stop Unfortunately App Has Stopped
-
I get the "Unfortunately (app) has stopped working" on a few different apps after I download them, I never even get them opened, It just goes immediately to the error. I've search and search tried ever solution on the net and nothing works.
Here is what I've already tried-
- Cleared the cache and clear data on the apps (but again I haven't even been able to open the app)
- wiped Dalvik cache
- wiped cache partition
- did a factory resetNothing changes still get the error.
When I purchased the phone they told me its rooted. I don't know much about rooted phone Its running kitkat 4.3.1
Please help!!!01-20-2015 12:05 PM

Some apps restrict use on rooted phones. Also, if it's rooted and somehow modified, some apps might malfunction since you're not using the phone with the stock software, so any customization might have modified the wrong file.

Which phone is it? I'm wondering if it's an older one with not enough ram for today's apps.

If you just got the phone and don't mind re-installing stuff, you could try and do a factory reset (just remember, this is just like formatting your computer, it wipes out EVERYTHING in the phone, so back your files up first!). That way the OS goes back to what it was originally, and then you start from scratch. Not sure, but I think doing this also means you lose root access.

I did a factory reset on it, it did wipe everything, but still had root access. But still got the error. I don't need root access, since I don't even really know anything about it being rooted. If I can figure out how to unroot it, will it go back to Jelly Bean? Its just a wifi only phone for my kid, not connected to a network (verizon). I'd like it to still have Kitkat on it. BUT really just want to solve the "Unfortunately ___ has stopped" error.

Well, AFAIK, unrooting will not cause you to go back to JB, it should stay on KitKat, but if you're still getting the error in a lot of apps I'm not sure it's really the root that's causing it. Let me see if any of my colleagues know their way around rooting/unrooting this phone (personally, the last thing I rooted was the OG Droid, so it's been quite a while haha).

Thanks! That would suck if I go to the trouble of unrooting it and then then error still happens. So annoying.

I read on another form that Google+ can cause this "Unfortunately ___ has stopped" so I disable it on the phone.. AND... nothing! I still get the error.

hi noooooo this dont make u lose root access the only way to "unroot" your phone is
search your apps if u find an app called SUPERSU then follow way 1 if u found app called KINGROOT follow way 2
1 open super su go to setting scroll down until u find unroot option click on it if it is pro version u will simply have your mobile unrooted if its not the pro version then this is a problem cause now u will need to do harder stuff like downloading an app called triangleaway but i dont know how to use it i wish its easy or u can download supersu uninstaller zip and flash it using twrp "sorry i cant tell u how cause of my comment growing big"
2 open kingroot go to setting it is inn the most upright cornersearch for uninstall kingroot click on it wait couple of minutes reboot your phone ok done
to make sure that this device is succesfully unrooted go to your device setting---about phone---status---scroll to the most down---if u found custom word then your phone is rooted if u found official word your phone is unrooted03-18-2016 04:39 AM

I had a game on my Samsung Galaxy S7 When I reach a certain level it completely stops. I can not do anything on it, and I spent over $100 on this game, and I cannot do anything. I feel like people screw you with games so they can have money, when really what's the purpose of buying their games. I do not suggest trusting Game loft, enough to pay them on their game. Please help me! Someone!

That means the app is not compatible for some reason, you may not have enough RAM or storage. Did you sideload it, as Play should not have let you download from the store if its not compatible.
